initial magazine advert

Above is the first magazine cover my group member, Jamie-Lee, created. As you can see the quality of the chosen image of our model Nikita is very poor, also the colours, font and sizing of the words do not match. We both decided that we will have to re-do our magazine cover as it was not up to standard, I also suggested we use different colours so that our magazine cover and digi-pak have similarities,

Final magazine advert

Here is our final magazine cover. After our first failed attempt I decided that pink would work better as we used a similar colour throughout our digipak, the image of Nikita was edited so there was more focus on her face. Overall, I prefer this magazine cover as it includes all the necessary details a magazine cover should have whilst keeping the focus on the artist.

Mood Board - Filming Ideas

I created this mood board during the planning process of our production in hope that it will inspire and give myself and my group member some ideas that we can use in our music video.

Does the video represent women in a negative way?

Yes, I believe it does. In the 'blurred lines' video there are three females half naked and wearing red lipstick which may be used to portray them as being seductive. This was done to draw the audiences attention to the women. There are also multiple close ups of the women looking sexually into the camera and biting their finger to give off a sexy look.

The women in the video don't seem to be doing much , they are dancing around and rubbing themselves on the men in the video to get attention. In comparison, the three males in the video are portrayed in a completely different way than the females. They are smartly dressed and fully clothed, flashing their jewellery and money whilst also drinking alcohol. This makes the females look as if they are dancing around for the attention of the males or objects to please the males,

The camera spends a lot of time on the females using a variety of shots such as medium wide shots to show their body and add emphasis on the fact that they don't have much clothes on. However,  in the video the males are paying very little attention to the females. Whilst the females are dancing around, the males are still looking into the camera, this could show that the females are simply there as a form of entertainment for the audience and give them something to look at whilst listening to the song.

Overall, I believe that this video represents women in an extremely negative light. The women in the video seem to be dancing around to pleasure the males although they are not paying them much attention they are showing off their money, clothes and expensive jewellery which has been used to attract the females attention.
